Most Rev'd Dom. Josivaldo Pereira de Oliveira was born in Jaguaruana (State of Ceará), to the Brazil, on April 24, 1948.
He was ordained Deacon on July 16, 1972, by Bishop Wanillo Galvão Barros, Diocesan bishop of Maceió (State of Alagoas, Brazil).
He received the priestly ordination by the Bishop, on September 17, 1972.
After eight years of parish Ministry, he was elected, ordained and consecrated Bishop, on March 16, 1980, by Most Rev'd Dom. Luigi Mascolo, Diocesan bishop of São Paulo, the consecration was assisted by Most Rev'd Dom Luis Fernando Castillo Mendes, Diocesan bishop of Brasilia (DF), and Most Rev'd Dom. Victor Sanches Tarso Pupo, Diocesan bishop of Santo André (São Paulo).
